THE HISTORY OF THE SHAKER CABINET
Shaker style cabinets have become increasingly popular in recent years. In the year 1770 an English woman, Ann Lee joined a sect of the Quakers known as the Shaking Quakers; (it was later shortened to Shakers.) Lee and the Shakers believe/d in a simple way of life and implemented it in everything they did; their dress, food, furniture among others. They did not create anything unless it was both necessary and useful. If it was necessary and useful then they agreed that you can make it beautiful. It is this for this reason that the shaker cabinet has earned its name; its beauty is in its simplicity.
